We are Bryan and Rachel Short, the owners and founders of The Sewing Loft of Avon. We approach your projects with the impassioned belief that you are our most important client! Whether we are fabricating window treatments for an entire house or one small seat cushion for a chair in a home office, every project is important to us.
You are entrusting us with something that is special to you, and we take that very seriously. You have a personal and and emotional attachment to your project, and we understand! We fabricate every project with the care and precision that you and your home deserve.

We will be with you every step of the way to answer your questions and to work with you to find the design, style and fabric that is just right for your project. The Football That Started It All
Rachel has been sewing for friends and family since 1995, but her love for sewing began in a 6th grade home economics class. She made her first project in that class: a pillow in the shape of a football. The pillow was supposed to have six rows of laces across the top, but Rachel insisted it should have eight.
When the pillow was short two grommets, Rachel convinced the teacher to get more. The dream of the football pillow, made the way Rachel wanted it to be made, was realized! Ever since, Rachel has loved the idea of taking a piece of fabric and transforming it into something with dimension, functionality and beauty.
Rachel has passed that same passion and training on to Bryan, and they both personally train and supervise every Sewing Loft employee. Bryan has become not only an active and experienced fabricator, but the face and voice of The Sewing Loft as well.
